On October 21st, Avenidas held a conference for caregivers. The theme was “The Road to Resilience: Helping Families Thrive.” Care Indeed was one of the main sponsors and had a booth (pictured above with Renata Spangler, CGCM).
At this conference, caregivers got to choose different workshops to attend, as well as listen to Keynote speakers, Dr. Fred Luskin and Roy Remer. They learned how to let go of hurt, helplessness and anger while increasing confidence, hope and happiness. Many health professionals also go to learn how to take a mindful-based approach in supporting caregivers, where Remer discussed three key points: the relationship between mindfulness, resilience, and well-being, how to apply those as a beneficial intervention for caregivers, and methodology used in Mindful Caregiver Education. During downtime, they were able to socialize and network with sponsors.
