Ignite Your Spark: Release Fear And Overwhelm And Find Your Way Back To Your Light

We all have a spark inside, but sometimes that spark gets dimmed and causes all manner of problems that challenge our health both mentally and physically. We get depressed, overwhelmed, anxious or fearful. We tense up, don’t breathe properly, lash out at loved ones or simply have the desire to curl up in a ball and turn out the lights. And that does NO ONE any good.

This can happen at any time, but particularly so after the last 18 months – you know what I’m talking about – when life changed so drastically. One minute we were laughing and hugging, shaking hands and ____ (fill in the blank of what you loved to do) and then came the STOP everything sign. That virus who shall not be named invaded and the world as we knew it simply came to a halt.

I could feel the sparks in people literally diminish (even virtually). I knew almost immediately that it was my job at this time, to bring light and laughter into the world. I sat in silence, journaled, reflected and immediately decided to create Motivational Minutes for social media. Every day for 2 months I sang, danced, shared words of inspiration and basically made a fool of myself (I encourage everyone to do that at some point) and the response was overwhelming.

Then the creative spirit hit again and I designed a class to help more people ignite their spark in a deeper way. Through years of theatre work, coaching and life experience, I came up with exercises and ways to help anyone willing to try, re-ignite their spark. Why? Because who doesn’t want to be happier, more fulfilled and find more joy in life? (Side bar – you are never too old to create, so what do you have bubbling inside that wants to come out?)

Here are some ideas you can implement immediately to get your spark glowing again. Perform a random of act of kindness for someone – they will be surprised and you will start glowing from the inside out. Write a note - yes I mean actually put a pen to paper, and send a note to a friend or relative. Bonus sparks will naturally occur if you draw on the card, hey even a smiley face works. Lastly, put on a smile and/or watch or read something that makes you LOL!

Shine on my friends, your spark is waiting to ignite!
