In the middle of a global pandemic, it is vital to express our heartfelt appreciation especially for the employees who remarkably exemplified dedication, true grit, and commitment to help those in real need during these trying times.

Meet our Care Indeeder of the Month- Alexander Zetino. Alex has been a constant source of support for some of our clients since he joined Care Indeed. Let's take a closer look at his caregiving journey and his contributions in creating a better world for our seniors.

1. Tell us a little bit about your caregiving journey.

My caregiving journey started when I was helping my aging Mother. We were five brothers taking turns caring for my mother. My experience from helping my Mother was very rewarding and I discovered the importance of having someone who really cares for you despite your limitations. Someone who won’t make you feel that you are alone. I worked for a Skilled Nursing Facility in Palo Alto where I learned how to properly care for people.

2. What drove you to become a professional caregiver?

After two years of working as a Comfort Aide at the SNF, I had the opportunity to work for various healthcare settings in the Bay Area. First, it’s a bit challenging to meet more than 20 patients a day, but later on, I enjoyed the whole process since I’ve been meeting a lot of people.

3. What do you like most about your job?

The satisfaction of helping people in need. Making a difference. This is not a job, it’s a calling to serve those who can’t help themselves.

4. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Since I don’t spend too much time with my wife during the week, I make sure that spending a day with her is really interesting and special. Because of the pandemic and social distancing should be followed, we started visiting places that were not crowded. We have climbed to the top of a mountain, visited empty beaches, taken time to care for each other, cleaned the apartment, and cooked together.

5. How would you describe Care Indeed's culture?

This is very important for me!! With the experience and references I have, I can work in any place that I want. I choose to work with Care Indeed because of the culture, the work environment, and the leadership. A place where the owners know your name and what you do, and more importantly, they care about you, your family, and show compassion to their clients. I’m proud to be part of an organization that doesn’t only value us because it’s business. They genuinely care and I feel that.

6. What do you think about being the employee of the month?

The Employee of the Month has a profound significance: It means that my dedication and hard work are being recognized, and not only that, this reward is a reminder that I can make a difference even in the simplest way that I can. Being granted this award means our efforts don’t go unnoticed.

7.  Is there anything you want to share with your colleagues?

I want to share many things. The most important, I think, is to do what you love doing. If you force yourself to do something you are not passionate about, it will not come out naturally. You’ll quickly get drained, and you won’t be able to enjoy a purposeless life.
