Dementia Care

At Care Indeed, our mission has always been to help create a better world for our seniors and caregivers. With every interaction, we strive to provide the best home care possible, catering to each client’s unique needs. Since we first started in 2010, our entire focus has been on improving the way we care for our senior population, and we know that this not only requires passion and empathy but innovation as well.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, an estimated 5.8 million Americans age 65 and older are currently living with Alzheimer’s or dementia—and numbers continue to grow. It is a condition that is often marked by uncertainty and one that requires consistent, ongoing support. The numbers are too big, and they’re growing too fast for us to not make some serious changes in how we prepare our professional and primary caregivers, health teams, and vocational schools on how to handle the intricacies of dementia care.

Expanding Our Reach

We have been so honored to help the many seniors and caregivers that live in the Bay Area, but for us—this wasn’t enough. We wanted to help more. We wanted to reach more people. Coupled with recent events resulting in visitation limits for many family members and healthcare professionals, we knew we had to develop a solution to help support people from the safety of their homes or businesses.

As one of the founders of Care Indeed, I understand the importance of this type of dedicated care, because, in addition to serving as our CEO, I am also a nurse and caregiver, myself. I understand how important the right care is. I co-founded this company with a simple mission to improve the lives of our older generation with a holistic approach - and now we are looking to expand that mission even further.

We know that there are certain challenges that come with caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and that if we are going to overcome those challenges, we need to use every tool in our arsenal. Virtual Reality is a highly underutilized tool for in-home care providers. But, this is a type of technology that can help bring a new level of understanding to the dementia care experience.

Innovation is a Journey

This journey to better care began with the launch of our VR product in 2019— designed to help mimic real-world dementia care scenarios. With our first version of this design, we offered professionally-designed scenarios for a truly immersive, real-life experience. Using this technology, meant that training could be implemented anytime, anywhere.

This is why we are so excited to introduce our new CI-VR Training Program. In partnership with MyndVR, a leading virtual reality company specializing in senior care, we innovated and expanded our first version with the introduction of eLearning, personalized support, and improved technology to create a truly immersive experience.

At Care Indeed, we’re always working on ways to grow and change to fit today’s climate. This is why we’ve improved our signature curriculum and updated the technology to include comfortable, mobile, lightweight headsets that feature gaze-based tracking systems and 4K resolution.

With our latest launch, we are bringing an entirely new element to the equation—eLearning. Now, caregivers, health providers, and vocational schools from all over the country can not only utilize our headsets but take advantage of expertly-crafted training programs that will help them truly understand some of the intricacies involved with dementia care. Our instructional content is curated by experts in the Geriatric and Memory Care fields and meant to help prepare caregivers for a number of unique challenges that may lie ahead.

Those interested in the platform can also get access to a support instructor who will help provide them with even more personalized guidance. This new platform can be deployed any time, anywhere, so even familial caregivers can get the professional training they need to provide dedicated at-home care.

We know the best practices to appropriately care for individuals with complex behaviors require hands-on experience, and now we can help caregivers of all types, in all locations, get this experience, without any of the accompanying safety risks. This system provides a more comprehensive learning experience that offers far more engagement than learning through text or videos alone.

As long as our seniors continue to need care, we will continue to come up with new ways to harness the power of technology to our advantage. Our goal always has, and always will be to give our caregivers every advantage they can, and our latest CI-VR launch is another way we can help make a difference one client at a time, and one caregiver at a time.
