Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is provided as a primary care treatment or alongside, or in conjunction with, other medical services by evaluating and treating physical impairment as a result of an injury, disability, and illness-related.
Imagine being unable to play basketball due to a herniated disk in the neck where the pain is channeled to the arm or shoulder, physical therapy may be the appropriate intervention to take to speed up recovery and prevent long-term dependency on pain medications.
To ensure that therapy services are effective, initially and during a course of treatment, for each therapy discipline for which services are provided, a qualified therapist (not an assistant) must perform the ordered therapy service. During this visit, the therapist must assess the patient using a method that allows for objective measurement of function and successive comparison of measurements. The therapist must document the measurement results in the clinical record.
