New beginnings are magical.

They're exciting, they're promising… and they can be just a little bit scary. "What if I'm not good at this?" "What if it doesn't turn out the way I was hoping?" If you're feeling unsure about something new you want to try, or if you find yourself hesitating to take the first step, know that you're not alone. We've all been there! But don't worry—I've got some tips that will help you trust in yourself and encourage you to try something new.

1) Accept the fear.

I have learned over time that trying to run away from fear never works out well—in fact, it often makes the situation worse. So instead of ignoring my fears or trying to fight against them, I've found that accepting them helps me move forward with confidence in what I am doing. This also means taking time for myself before jumping into something new—to sit quietly and reflect on what this will mean for me and how much support and encouragement I need from others.

2) Be your own cheerleader!

You are so much stronger than you think, and if you give yourself a chance, you'll be surprised by how much you can accomplish on your own. If you're feeling down about yourself or discouraged by what seems like insurmountable odds, just remember that you're exactly where you need to be—and that's OK! You don't need anyone else's approval to prove that what you're doing matters—you already know it does! So give yourself a pep talk and keep moving forward!

3) Find people who are going through what you're going through!

It's easy to feel isolated when things get tough—but remember that there are other people out there who are going through the same thing as you! Surround yourself with the support you need. Chances are you’ll learn from their struggles and successes too!

Trust in yourself; trust in your ability to make things happen; trust in your own magic! You're going to do great things this year—I know it!

Cheers to new beginnings! Vee
