COVID Vaccine Availability for Bay Area Seniors & Caregivers

As COVID vaccines become more readily available, we know that finding the right information can often be a difficult and overwhelming process to navigate. We have compiled a list of important links and information to make the process a little easier.

San Mateo County

Receive Notification When You Are Eligible

While COVID-19 vaccine supply remains limited, you can sign up for the County’s notification tool to receive a notification when the State makes you eligible and information about how you may get an appointment.

Most San Mateo County residents will receive the vaccine from their primary care provider. Contact your health care provider for the most accurate and up to date information about when and how you can expect to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Blue Shield
  • Kaiser If you’re a health care worker, please complete an e-visit form. If you’re age 75 or older, Kaiser will contact you directly as vaccine supply becomes available and will provide you with instructions on how to make an appointment.
  • San Mateo Medical Center & Clinics
  • Stanford Health or call (650) 498-9000
  • Sutter/PAMF
  • Uninsured Residents
  • Veterans need to be enrolled with the VA in order to receive the vaccine. The VA Palo Alto is offering the Pfizer Vaccine to any VA Health Care Eligible Veteran who is 75 or older. Appointments are required (No Walk-ins). Veterans 75+ are asked to call the scheduling line at 650-496-2535 to secure an appointment. The San Bruno VA Clinic is offering the Moderna vaccine to any VA Health Care eligible veteran age 75 or older. Appointments are required (no walk-ins). Veterans age 75 or older are asked to call the scheduling line at 650-615-6000 to secure an appointment.

Santa Clara County

All healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents in Phase 1A are currently eligible to be vaccinated, as are County residents age 65 and older.

Alameda County

Sign up to be notified when you are eligible for a vaccine. Complete Alameda County’s Vaccine Notification Form to register to be notified by the County when a vaccine is available. Check your eligibility on the State's My Turn website to check if it is your turn, and if it isn't your turn yet, register to be notified when you become eligible.

Sutter Health patients who are 75+ or healthcare workers can now schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Please click here for more information.

Kaiser Permanente will reach out to members who are 65 and older to provide information about vaccine availability and the appointment process and will be updating the kp.org/covidvaccine website as new information becomes available, including online tools to schedule an appointment.

Oakland Coliseum beginning Feb. 16: People can register for the vaccine on the state’s MyTurn scheduling system, though appointments may not be available yet locally


Contra Costa County

San Francisco County

If you are eligible, sign up for an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Supply remains limited. They are in the process of vaccinating Frontline healthcare workers and those residents 65 years and older.

Contra Costa County

People who are eligible to be vaccinated should contact their healthcare provider for more information or to make an appointment.
